7 p.m. on Monday, January 16th, in the S&T Ballroom
TOPIC:
Windows 8 is coming
soon... what will it have that Windows 7 doesn’t?
As this email is being written,
Microsoft is busily developing its next Operating System,
Windows 8. Indeed,
Microsoft has hinted that they plan to release a Beta version of it to the
general public, perhaps as soon as February.
In his capacity as one of Microsoft’s
external Beta testers, Chris Gavrilovic has been working with a number of
pre-Beta release versions of Windows 8 over the past year or so. His
experiences have gained him considerable insight into its design philosophy,
potential new features, and its plusses (and minuses, if any), which he will
demonstrate and explain.
In addition,
Bob Zornetzer will show
us his new Toshiba Thrive Android Tablet
and tell us what he thinks about it. Time permitting, Bob may
also address the new version of Acronis
Backup & Recovery software.
